During one Sunday morning last April, as we were singing
hymns for the Lord, one brother helped a blind woman sit on the pew beside me.
I remembered my mother mentioning about her before as one of the most amazing
members in this congregation. Every Sunday morning, she would wake up early and
prepare for the worship service. She would walk by herself, with a stick in her
hand, all the way from her house to the worship hall. The worship hall is on
the 3rd floor, so she would hold on the walls to guide her to the top. It’s
amazing how a blind woman like her, with the difficulties that she has, would
serve God fervently.
What trials and tribulations do you have in your life? I
think fingers in our hands are not enough to count them. But I do hope that these
things won’t hinder us in serving God, just like the blind woman. If our
problems become so overwhelming, let’s remember that we have a big God up there
who can make things possible for us.
I'm really blessed that she was beside me that Sunday.
“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the
Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:2 [NKJV]
